Quebec businessman and pastor Daniel Langlois and his wife, Dominique Marchand, were found dead on the Caribbean island of Dominica.
according to Dominica News OnlineThey were passengers in a burned car that police authorities found near the town of Galion. The article reported that the couple had been missing for several days. Police arrested three people in connection with this case.
Born in 1957, Mr. Langlois has been involved in sustainable development projects for several years, including the Colibri Ridge project., A multi-award winning self-contained hotel in Dominica.
He is also the creator and founder of SOFTIMAGE, a company known for 3D animation technologies. From 1986 to 1998, he was its president and chief technology officer. In 1994, he sold his company to Microsoft.
Daniel Langlois received many honors during his life, including being named a Knight of the National Order of Quebec in 1999. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded him a Scientific and Technical Academy Award in 1997.
Also in the same year, the Daniel Langlois Foundation was created. The private, charitable and non-profit organization aims to “contribute to the advancement of knowledge in art and science by promoting their encounters in technology”, as we can read on its website.
