By choosing to share stunning photos of the surgery she underwent to remove a cancerous spot on her face, model Christie Brinkley hopes to inspire people to take more care of their skin.
The 70-year-old model was still in luck, as she was accompanying her daughter to her medical appointment where she asked if the doctor could look at a small dot she felt on her face as she stood up for make-up.
“The good news for me is that we caught basal cell carcinoma very early. I had excellent doctors who removed the cancer and sewed me to perfection like couture,” wrote the star, who has not lost her sense of humor despite the result of this unplanned biopsy. From Dior.
Of the three photos of the model taken at the hospital, one of them carries a “sensitive content” warning on Instagram. By clicking “see photo”, we were already amazed by the open wound on the star's face.
“The good news for you is that all of this can be avoided by being diligent with your sun protection,” she adds, saying she regrets taking care of her skin a little later in life.
