Kelly Clarkson has revealed that her daughter, River Rose, was bullied at school because of dyslexia.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host was overwhelmed with emotion when she chatted with guest star Henry Winkler, who also has dyslexia and has written dozens of children’s books.
She said her eight-year-old daughter was bullied at school because she was unable to read at the same pace as her classmates. “I was driving my daughter to school yesterday, she is dyslexic, and you told me you are dyslexic too,” she began. I find it unreasonable to tell my daughter that you have written about 40 books and that you are dyslexic because she is being bullied at school because she cannot read like other children. »
She added that River Rose was prompted by a lecture at her school in which she discovered that celebrities had learning difficulties, including problems with reading, writing and spelling.
