WhatsApp has announced the global rollout over the next few weeks of a long-awaited feature: sending high-resolution photos, so that your loved ones receive the best possible quality snaps.

Until then, the images sent to your loved ones from the WhatsApp conversation did not retain the original quality of the file. And this, in particular, in order to avoid saturating your interlocutor’s storage. That era is over now, because the Meta app will let you choose between two options.

On the one hand, it will be possible to send your photos in standard quality – this is the mode that will be selected by default to ensure fast sharing -, on the other hand, you can transfer your photos in HD. Everything is always protected by end-to-end encryption.

At the moment, WhatsApp does not locate this option. But according to the demo version seen earlier, it is enough to click on “HD” in the photo editor. After that, a window should appear to select “Standard Quality” or “HD Quality”. The file definition and size should also be mentioned.
