Elimination Chamber 2023 in Montreal, Quebec was very special for Sami Zayn as he got the opportunity to compete in the WWE World Championship on his home turf. This week has also been very special for Sami Zayn.
In fact, WWE held a live event in Laval, Quebec on December 28, 2023 (view the results here) and Sami Zayn witnessed a very special moment. For the first time in his life, Sammy had the opportunity to have his son at ringside and for the first time he saw him wrestle.
During Elimination Chamber, only his wife was at ringside since his son was younger and he had to sleep in before the main event which was much later than the live event in Laval. Here is Sami Zayn's full statement in Laval about the importance of this evening:
“You know I came to Montreal to be a part of WWE over ten years ago. Every time I came, it was special. I always tell myself: 'There's no way the next time will be this special.'” And guess what, every time “One time is more special! I've said it over and over again for ten years, and after Elimination Chamber in Montreal, with all of you supporting me, there's no way to get a more special moment. Once again, I was wrong. Somehow, tonight is even more special.”
Kevin could have mentioned that, he has his amazing family that has supported him all these years, sitting here. You see them every time we're in Montreal and tonight you see my family in the front row here. But tonight is even more special, because you probably already know, but I'm a bit of a private person, and I keep things to myself. Some of you may not know this but I have a little boy. And this cute boy here in the red shirt. When I'm at home, I'm not a WWE superstar, I'm not Sami Zayn, I'm just meh. This young man has never seen me wrestle before, and he knows nothing about what I do. Tonight is the first time he's seen me in this ring.
