The film was not initially scheduled to be shown in theaters in France. “Challengers,” a new work by Lucas Guadagnino, was filmed in 2022 and was scheduled to stream on Prime Video. However, after the release was delayed due to a writers and actors strike in 2023, the streaming platform has finally agreed to make a proper French release of the film with Zendaya in the lead.

Her husband, Art (Mike Faist), who trains him, must face off against Patrick (Josh O'Connor), none other than his former best friend and his wife's ex-lover, during the Challenger tournament. A love triangle, tension and tennis, that is the promise of Luca Guadagnino's film, which will be released in theaters on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
