The dim-witted drummer becomes the Labor Party candidate for the next election

Dave Rowntree has been nominated by the British Labor Party in the Mid Sussex constituency for the next general election, the dates of which are not yet known.

From concert halls to polling booths. Dave Rowntree, the drummer of British rock band Blur, has been nominated as the Labor candidate for the next general election in the United Kingdom. He will contest the Mid Sussex constituency in England, which is represented by a Conservative MP in the House of Commons.

“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to become Mid Sussex's first Labor MP,” the musician said in a statement. Sky News.

Labor is keen to work with the drummer

Mid Sussex Labor group also welcomed the appointment on social network X: “We think Dave will be a great candidate”.

“We look forward to working with him to elect him as Mid Sussex's first Labor MP,” Labor wrote in a statement.

The next general election in England, due to take place at the end of January 2025, aims to elect members of Parliament to the House of Commons. The Conservative Party – led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak – currently holds the majority of seats in the lower house of the British Parliament with 349 MPs.
