Salmonella: New recall for chocolate eggs Kinder Surprise

Kinder brand chocolate eggs have again been recalled across the country due to possible salmonella contamination.

Among the products recalled were advent calendars, baby eggs, and a variety of sweets.

In all, twenty products are now covered by the warning that was updated Monday by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and launched as a precaution by Ferrero Canada.

Anyone in possession of the returned products must dispose of or return them to their retailer for compensation.

Salmonella bacteria are responsible for salmonellosis, a disease that usually appears as acute food poisoning, with symptoms including fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

The CFIA said foods contaminated with these bacteria show no visible or olfactory damage.

– Schoko-Bons in 200g format, “best before” dates from August 2 to October 17 2022;

– Kinder Surprise in 100g format, “best before” dates from 14 May to 29 November 2022;

– Kinder Surprise “Disney Frozens” in 100g format, “best before” dates until July 24, 2022;

– Kinder Surprise “Dreamworks Trolls” in 100g format, “Best Before” dates on August 28, 2022;
