Rishi Sunak gets a warning by letting his dog walk unyieldingly

A video shared on social media shows the British Prime Minister’s dog Noah walking in Hyde Park in London.

A video of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak walking his dog in Hyde Park has prompted a reminder of police rules in another embarrassing prank after ‘Partygate’ and ‘Cheat Beltgate’.

Images widely shared on social media site TikTok show the Conservative leader’s dog Noah, a Labrador retriever, taking a walk in London’s Royal Park after looking closely at a sign that says dogs must be kept on a leash.

The footage then shows Rishi holding Sunak’s collar, before a woman who appears to be his wife Akshada Murthy gives him the strap.

A reminder of the rules

“We are aware of a video of a dog wandering around Hyde Park,” a London Police spokesman said.

“An officer who was there then spoke to a woman and reminded her of the rules. The dog was put back on a leash,” the same source added.

According to the BBC, the officer in question is one of the Prime Minister’s closest bodyguards. A spokesperson for Rishi Sunak declined to comment.

“Particate” and “Seat Beltgate”

Since the end of October, Rishi Sunak has been fined for not wearing his seat belt while filming a video in the back of a car in the north of England.

He admitted a “mistake” and apologised, Downing Street said.

When he was Boris Johnson’s finance minister, Rishi Sunak was fined in the so-called “partygate” scandal for violating anti-covid rules and attending a rally for the prime minister’s birthday.
