Montreal police arrested singer Cornelio, who has been wanted since last week for failing to appear in court, on Wednesday evening.
This was confirmed by sources in Journalism. Last Thursday, the court issued an arrest warrant against the singer after he failed to appear. In the past, his lawyers have also acknowledged the difficulty of reaching him. The judge had also issued a subpoena for his appearance last week.
Cornelio Munteano, who rose to fame from his time on Star Academy in 2004, is known for drugging two people on two different occasions, in 2013 and 2016.
More precisely, he was accused three years apart in 2013 and then in 2016, of giving his victims or causing them to consume “a poison, a destructive substance.” [ou] harmful substance with intent to harm or torture such person,” the indictment states.
The main person of interest had an arrest warrant issued on November 10, 2022 in Montreal, and was arrested a few days later, on November 14.
