Outings to do this weekend

It's Friday, and the first weekend of May will be very busy in terms of festivals and activities. An overview of events scheduled throughout the province.

“In Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the Sève Festival is taking place in its second edition,” confirmed François Trepanier, tourism columnist for the program “À vosaffaires”. Several artists will perform on the main stage, including Daniel Belanger, Hansom Eli, and Clay and Friends. The columnist invites listeners to “get tickets, because it is a festival that kicks off the festivals in Quebec, in an amazing atmosphere.”

In Central du Québec, the Maple Festival offers one last chance to treat yourself to something sweet before the warm weather arrives. It takes place in Placesville, the “Maple Capital of the World.” Public markets, musical performances and country dancing are on the list of this “not to be missed” event, according to François Trepanier.

For Ottawa athletes, the Trail des Collines will take place on Saturday, and will allow everyone to travel trails up to 22 km long. In Mauricie, outdoor enthusiasts can go to Sainte-Ursule to visit Parc des Chutes.

This weekend also marks the start of Quebec Cider Week, which takes place at participating cider houses until May 12. The 24 Hours of Science and Beyond Festival also provides an opportunity to explore the field of science and technology for all ages with 400 activities across the province.
