The authors of the rankings praised Montreal in particular for its cultural vitality, which earned it 20th place in the world, and the quality of its universities, which earned it 29th place.

Resonance is particularly excited about the Espace St-Denis project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2025 and includes the St-Denis Theater. Numerous bicycle path projects and pedestrian diversion to about ten arterials were also highlighted during the summer.

For its part, Toronto, which has been called an “emerging global destination,” has been touted for its continued development that is causing its population to explode. The Queen City is ranked 10th globally for the quality of its universities and 11th for its head offices among the world’s 500 largest companies.

Big cities also appear to be very popular in the rankings which put London in first place, followed by Paris, New York, Tokyo and Singapore.
