MLB August 11 recap: Charles LeBlanc still stands out for the Marlins

Philadelphia – Charles LeBlanc’s singles stole a base and scored a run on Thursday to help the Miami Marlins win 3-0 over the Philadelphia Phillies.

At six, the 26-year-old Quebec hit one hit before stealing a second base in the major leagues. Then Lavallois crossed the board with a double of Lloyd Diaz, bringing the score to the final reckoning.

In 11 major league games, Leblanc has emerged with a batting average of .410 (16 vs. 39), including Homer. He hit the safe in all but one of his encounters on August 3 (0v3 match against the Reds in Miami).

Leblanc has four doubles, five runs scored and two bases stolen.

Edward Cabrera (3-1) allowed only three singles in five innings and two-thirds, and hit six hits.

In the ninth, Tanner Scott allowed two hits and a walk, but he let go with two strokes and run into first base. Thus, 16 memorization operations were collected.

Scott also had to take it upon himself to finish eighth. With two runners at the base, he did so by hitting disc hitter JT Realmuto.

“It got really exciting in the end. But we were able to complete the job,” said Don Mattingly, Marlins manager.

“Tanner makes things exciting. There aren’t a lot of easy[rescues]but he seems to get the job done most of the time,” Mattingly added.

The Marlins will host the Atlanta Braves from Friday through Sunday.

Bryson Stott hit two strokes for the Phillies, who have won their last seven games.
