Job: Construction Mechanics Technician at Vaudroy-Dorion

The population has doubled in the past fifteen years and now stands at just over 40,000 citizens. The Department of Public Works is currently looking for a Building mechanics technician.

Under the responsibility of the Department Manager – Building, Equipment and Rolling Stock Maintenance, the Building Mechanics Technician undertakes various responsibilities related to the preparation, design, implementation and monitoring of major construction, renovation and restoration projects for the existing systems in the building (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, emergency system, rink cooling systems). on ice, temperature control systems, etc.). requirements

• Diploma of University Studies (DEC) in Construction Mechanics Technology.
• You have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar position;
• Good knowledge of reading plans, specifications, construction and monitoring methods as well as estimating methods and current regulations.
• Master the Quebec Building Code.
• Proficiency in Autocad, Microsoft Office suite and IT tools inherent to the job;
• Proficiency in French and report writing techniques.
• Knowledge of different remote building management platforms (assets);
• Possess a valid driver’s licence/class 5;
• Holds a Construction Site Health and Safety (ASP) card (assets).

Work schedule and salary

The normal work week is thirty-seven and a half hours (37.5 hours) per week, spread over five (5) days, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

As a reference, the salary range is $33.80 to $39.77 per hour. The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion applies a salary integration rule that takes into account the candidate’s directly relevant experience profile.
