One of the most obvious characteristics of immigrant communities in France is that they are mostly made up of retirees. They didn’t really mix with the French. Strangely, it still works. No animosity, at least not to my knowledge.
In these communities (and across France, I’m sure), all parts of England are represented, with conversations in the local pub ranging from Yorkshire, Wiltshire, Kent, Devon, Birmingham… or even Angus. [un comté écossais].
