It has now been five days since the candidates for the Miss France 2024 election arrived in Guyana for the traditional preparatory trip. Who says miss the trip says general knowledge test! Despite their busy schedule, with photo shoots at the Salvation Islands, a trip deep into the Amazon jungle and modeling lessons, the 30 young women revised the show until the last minute. But the terrifying moment had finally come.

If last year’s test was considered easier, this year’s test may make some of the winners sweat… And, according to Cindy Faber, director of the national competition, the test is much more difficult than the previous version. First, there are more logical questions. “We can have culture, but we can be stronger in thought,” says Frédéric Guilbert, Miss France’s new general director. “We are no longer just about knowledge, but also about thinking.” Another surprise in the 2023 edition test: three questions about the license “because Miss France wins a car.”

But the biggest surprise is undoubtedly the last question… which is actually a dictation! “ As much as the beauty of the French language is embodied in our beauty queens. “In the age of social networks and connected writing assistants, I find it a shame that we are losing writing, the work of words and letters,” explains Cindy Faber, not a little proud of her idea, which was born from her involvement with Dictation. “Reasonable and easy to understand” text

It was also on this occasion that she met the professor of literature and author in Marseille, Dounia Salhi, who imagined the text to be dictated by Ms. A “reasonable and easy-to-understand” text, addressing the competition’s values ​​with a Guyanese touch, in reference to the department hosting the preparatory trip this year.

Thanks to this new test, the director wants…We guarantee not only that the future Miss France will know how to write her Instagram posts flawlessly, but she will also be able to write a word in the guest book, in clear handwriting without misspellings, during a regional trip. “Even if we hold a pen… we no longer write letters by hand, we no longer send postcards. If Miss France has to leave a mark in her wake, she had better leave one without fail.

Just before the launch, Miss New Caledonia was rather calm: “I’m not necessarily nervous, we either know or we don’t know, this test does not determine our intelligence.” Her friend Miss Limousin also controls her nervousness: “I checked, I did my best. We’ll see ! » For its part, and based on the tests of previous years, the colluding trio consisting of Miss Guadeloupe, Miss Mayotte and Miss Guyana reviewed the news of recent months, the topic of sports and the Olympic Games that will arrive in a few months in France, history, geography and fashion…

Scores will be returned to graduates the day after the test, Saturday, November 25. Contrary to what some might think, the person with the best scores does not get a pass to the rest, and the person with the lowest scores is not automatically eliminated.

The result is simply taken into account by the preliminary selection jury to form the top 15 teams, which will be revealed during the elections to be held at the Zenith in Dijon, on 16 December. Miss France 2024 will be crowned that evening by Indira Ambiot (Miss France 2023).
