These are drawings in which women mix with flowers, to promote Sarah Bernhardt pieces or LU biscuits, at the beginning of the twentieth century. All signed by Alphonse Mucha.

Like magical creatures, these women have flowers on their heads, and hair flowing like vines. With these posters, Alphonse Mucha created a new style in 130 years, and a completely new, queer feminine type. The women Mucha painted at this time had not aged a bit. In the winter of 1894, he reinvented the modern theater poster. Before him, there were small formats, not very colorful, and simple female figures.

Alphonse Mucha will succeed in sublimating women

He doubles the size of the classic poster, to two metres, and imposes life-sized paper women on the streets. To be more convincing, he films actresses or models in the studio, turning them into flower women with flowing hair. The audience of the time would find them irresistible.
