Ahead of the first match at Stade Saputo next week, FC Montreal will try to get back to winning ways on Saturday night, while Laurent Courtois' side visit the Seattle Sounders.

It's currently 2-0 in favor of the Sounders.

The Sounders have only scored four goals since the start of the season, which puts them last in the MLS in this regard, but Brian Schmetzer's men were the first to open the scoring in the 20th minute of play, following a free kick from Albert Rusnak. Raul Ruidiaz was sent off by CFM, scoring a brilliant goal on a half-volley that Jonathan Sirruis was unable to stop.

Joel Waterman committed CFM's first foul a few minutes later. Central defender Rusnak tripped in the penalty area. The referee awarded the penalty kick after reviewing VAR. Ruidiaz scored his second goal in the match with a powerful shot on the left side from Sirius.

Montreal XI's best chance came in the 37th minute. On a corner kick, Joaquin Sosa, who was playing his first minutes in the blue, white and black uniform, thought he had blocked Stefan Frei with a header, but the goalkeeper made a great save to preserve the score.

Pre-match note

CFM (2-2-1) has lost its last two games, conceding four goals in the final 10 minutes of play and overtime.

On the other hand, Seattle (0-3-2) wants to taste victory. They are one of two teams looking for their first win of the season.

The Sounders are also struggling to score goals. With four goals in five matches, they are tied for last place with New York City FC and the New England Revolution.

This showdown in Washington State will be CF's sixth and final away game before their home opener on April 13 against FC Cincinnati.

Mathias Coccaro is Montreal's 11th top scorer so far with three goals this season. Josef Martinez is at the top in terms of assists with two.
