“I think the good news is that there are more Backstreet Boys fans in Montreal than there are orange cones. So it’s always welcome. We’re always happy to have members of the Backstreet Boys come and visit us,” the Montreal mayor announced.

The opposition to the city of Montreal does not see the situation the same way at all.

“There is nothing funny about what happened yesterday with AJ. The mayor is drunk all over the place. You promised us a summer with fewer orange cones, and I think we have orange cones like never before,” Ensemble Montréal leader Arif Salem told TVA Nouvelles. “Instance.”

TVA Nouvelles also polled residents and many citizens denounced the current situation of orange cones in the city.

Here are some of the reactions we got:

“There are so many, so many.”

“I think they should do more to coordinate the work, because there is so much.”

“It’s embarrassing for everyone. It makes you want to escape the city.”
