The number of tourists is higher than expected in Quebec during the holiday season

Fearing a drop in traffic due to gloomy weather, Quebec's tourism sector was pleased to see higher-than-expected attendance.

At around 12 noon, tourists were present in Old Quebec, especially at the outdoor skating rink at Place D'Youville.

Although the hotels are not full, Aloba Clark, director general of the Quebec Region Hotel Association (AHRQ), says attendance statistics are “good.”

“We had a lot of rain, so we had concerns. Finally, it's good, the traffic is so huge. Last week, from December 17 to 23, we were the number one destination in Canada.”
