Le Rouge Vin is officially leaving the Hôtel Gouverneur

End of an era

The announcement of the company's move to Trois-Rivières Marina was revealed last January, thanks to a combined investment of approximately $2.7 million. So it will take a few more days to move the equipment from downtown to the restaurant's new home.

“As of next Friday, our activities will be completely transferred to the marina,” says Maud Paquette Normandin, partner and business development manager at Trois-Rivières. From May 14, the first reception room will be opened and the Jeune Chambre de la Mauricie will hold a lunch there.

“After that, we hope to have an opening for the restaurant in the third week of May […] Maybe around May 25,” adds the co-owner of the company who is not afraid to lose sight when leaving downtown Trois-Rivières.

“The people who came to Rouge Vin were mostly pre-booked customers, who took the trouble to make an appointment with us. We expect there will be the same customers who come to the marina for a better experience.

“We will make efforts to introduce ourselves to new customers at this level.”

“This new chapter is much more than a cosmetic update. It is a real strategic renaissance,” says Ms. Paquette-Normandin. “We will have a more detailed and slightly more complete menu compared to the offer we had at the Hôtel Gouverneur.”

“We are always into seafood and barbecue. The experience that we will have in the marina with the balcony overlooking the water, eating seafood will give us a more complete experience.

The restaurant is also hiring chefs and waiters, as with the new investments, the reception capacity will increase significantly. “The dining room as we know it at Rouge Vin will expand this summer,” explains the business development manager.

“We had a dining room for 100 people at the Hôtel Gouverneur and we will increase it to about 130 people, excluding the terrace which will also seat about 50 people. So we expect to be able to seat 180 people in the summer.
