Sophie Gregoire Trudeau appeared on the latest episode of the ‘Originals’ podcast hosted by Meghan Markle, where the two women discussed their roles as mothers and the expectations placed upon them.

“The guilt we feel as mothers or as women in general is one that we impose on ourselves. I think we have learned to impose it on ourselves. A young girl is not born to feel guilty for being a girl. We learn this, and it is completely unacceptable,” Prime Minister Justin’s wife protested Trudeau by breaking up the role of mother with the Duchess of Sussex and other guests.
Meghan and Sophie reminded their listeners that they’ve been friends since they met in Toronto seven years ago.
The American presenter and actress said that she invited her friend and children to her California home for a few days last summer, where they all enjoyed the pool.

“We swam and drank,” Megan recalls, adding that on that day they were neither wives nor mothers, “with perfect cakes, pearls, and demure smiles.”
“It was the other version of us. Those with messy curly hair, swimwear, baggy linens and giggles. Big hugs with our little ones.” […] Few girls on the balcony are like true disciples.”
Meghan also shared that during her pregnancy, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau used to send meditation clips, audio encouragement, and advice.
“She knows what it means to be a mother, a wife, and especially a mother and wife in front of the audience,” Megan told her listeners.
Moreover, both partners mocked this expected role of them due to their public standing.

“I call myself ‘Ms.’ because of protocol often – I’m sure you know what it is – and my ears twitch every time. No, I’m not a lady,” said Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, laughing.
At the same time, Meghan Markle, while talking to actress Pamela Adlon, revealed that her daughter Lillipet Diana, who will soon be a year and five months old, started walking very recently.
