Sheraton Laval: A Completely Redesigned Business Destination

Sheraton Laval: A Completely Redesigned Business Destination

With its welcoming common areas, unique restaurant concept, ultra-modern conference center, and successful design along the line, the new Sheraton Laval Hotel is truly eye-catching.

After two years of major work that required an investment of $20 million and garnered creativity and attention to detail from the entire management team, the least we can say is that the hotel complex has undergone a facelift. Annie-Yves Fregon, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the organization explains: “We embarked on our major transformation project in February 2020, just before the pandemic. It must be said that the hotel was 40 years old and that new facilities were needed.”

And what changes! From the entrance, visitors are welcomed into a large, bright and fully open space, where the reception desk, a stunning bar surrounded by glass pantry, a welcoming gourmet counter, an elegant restaurant and relaxation areas lead to impromptu conversations. . Quiet and lively, this huge open area is surrounded by four impressive glass-fronted meeting rooms, perfect for meetings in small groups. The dazzling effect is undeniable!

Priority for ease of use

In hospitality as in life, first impressions are very important. “We have completely redesigned the public spaces,” comments Annie-Yves Fregon. Upon entering the hotel, even before going to the reception, guests are greeted by the gourmet restaurant La Spesa, which serves specialty coffees, paninis and good meals on the go 24 hours a day, which you can savor on the spot, in your room, or even Take it on the road. Guests can also sit at the bar for a mixed experience, then dine at La Piazza, which serves Italian and Mediterranean specialities. » Note: Counter, restaurant and catering service can accommodate food intolerances and allergies.

Another function of this new type of agora is to allow those who participate in conferences or business meetings to take a break, change the air, and stretch their legs. In fact, coffee and snacks are no longer served in meeting rooms, as the service is now exclusively at the gourmet counter. A decision resulting from real thought. “The gourmet counter allows people to leave their meeting room for a snack,” comments the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Thus they can take advantage of the light and change of scenery to recharge their batteries. »

Those who fear the loss of productivity associated with such breaks can be reassured: everything has been well thought out, because the gourmet counter is strategically located near all meeting rooms, as well as the conference center. It is clear that the hotel continues to provide a full catering service for business lunches, conference dinners and party evenings.

The central space made up of La Piazza Bar and Restaurant can also be reserved for special occasions, and is particularly popular for its open-plan configuration that lends itself particularly well to relaxation.

A large project specially designed for the business community

As Annie-Ève Frigon explains, Sheraton Laval’s successful transformation is the result of a coordinated approach to meeting the needs and aspirations of organizations. “Our goal was to create a business destination for today and tomorrow, which will still be relevant in 2035. Not only did we change the decor, we reviewed the entire profession and utility of spaces. To make the right decisions, we surveyed our clients and asked them how to meet their expectations.”

At the same time, Sheraton Laval management called up teams from each division. This process led to one conclusion: the convention center had to be expanded and remodeled to be able to welcome new clients and find those whose events have expanded over the years. So the Sheraton Laval Convention Center underwent a major renovation that led to a 10,000-square-foot expansion. Spread over two floors, it now contains a large entrance hall and a brand new glazing space, the Lavalloise Room, which, in fine weather, opens onto a huge terrace suitable for events. With outdoor fireplaces and welcoming furnishings, it’s a meeting place for businessmen and hotel guests alike.

“Today we have 22 meeting rooms that can accommodate 10 to 1,500 people,” says Annie-Ève Frigon. Retractable partitions in our ballroom allow us to create 22,000 square feet of space by connecting it to the new La Lavalloise room, and we can also configure meeting and event spaces in 70 ways. This flexibility allows us to respond very precisely to the needs of each client. So we can accommodate small committee meetings for breakfast such as business lunches, cocktail parties, fairs or evenings of big celebrations. The possibilities are limitless. »

Sheraton Laval’s transformation has also prioritized improving technology facilities. Throughout the hotel complex, interactive displays inform customers in real time of current and upcoming activities. A video wall in the conference center entrance hall allows customers to broadcast messages, photos and visual signatures. And of course, the Wi-Fi and connectivity have been updated.

here we go again !

Annie-Ève Frigon concluded, “After the setback caused by the pandemic, the phone did not ring and the booking was going well. Due to our renovations, new customers are curious to discover us and old customers want to rediscover us. We are ready to welcome them!”
