SDC Espace Saint-Charles is in hiring mode

Created in November 2023, the commercial development company (SDC) Espace Saint-Charles, which brings together 150 commercial sites in the heart of Vieux-Longueuil, is looking for someone to fill a position in general management.

Since 2012, around fifty businesses on St. Charles Street have come together as part of the Espace St. Charles Association, in order to contribute to the promotion of this important commercial artery. After about ten years of its existence, the association, composed exclusively of volunteers, wanted to equip itself with a more formal intervention framework and new resources to ensure the economic vitality of the sector.

The manager position is posted on many job posting sites. The salary offered is between $70,000 and $75,000.

The territory of SDC Espace Saint-Charles, on rue Saint-Charles Ouest, extends from rue Montarville to rue chemin de Chambly. Its mission is to stimulate the commercial dynamism of this sector in order to contribute to the economic growth of the neighborhood in cooperation with local partners.

Recently, a $270,000 grant was awarded by Longueuil elected officials.

The birth of SDC Espace Saint-Charles was facilitated with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy as part of a $2 million financial agreement reached in September 2021 with the city to revitalize the city centre.
