Russia has called for a UN investigation into Washington’s involvement

Russia has accused the US of funding a biological weapons program in Ukraine, saying it found evidence of it in Ukrainian laboratories.

Moscow continues and symptoms. Russia has asked the UN to launch an international investigation into Washington’s alleged involvement in the development of biological weapons in Ukraine.

He noted in a press release that Russia had no choice but to complain to the head of the UN Security Council to launch an international investigation into “US biomilitary activities on the territory of Ukraine.” The complaint was accompanied by a corresponding draft resolution.

Evidence?

Shortly after its offensive in Ukraine began in late February, Russia accused the United States of funding a biological weapons program in Ukraine, saying it had found evidence of it in Ukrainian laboratories.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the purpose of this research is to “develop a mechanism for the stealthy spread of deadly pathogens.” UN Moscow has repeatedly raised these allegations at Security Council meetings.

For their part, both the United States and Ukraine have denied that the country has laboratories intended to produce biological weapons.

Like Ukraine, Russia had already accused the US in 2018 of secretly conducting biological experiments at a laboratory in Georgia, another former Soviet republic aiming to join NATO and the EU.

For its part, Washington, not through its ambassador to the UN, denied it was “a pure invention”.

“We all know these claims are pure invention, presented without any evidence,” said Linda Thomas-Greenfield. “But I want to take this opportunity to make things clear: Ukraine does not have a biological weapons program…the United States does not have a biological weapons program.”
