Only Gary Bateman wants to keep them there.

May 16th is a very important day for the future of the Arizona Coyotes, as a referendum is being held to determine whether the city of Tempe will be able to undertake a new arena construction project.

During his segment on “La Poche Bleue le midi” on Tuesday, Simon Gagner admitted that he did not want to see the project come to fruition.

“I’m not going to lie, I hope it doesn’t pass. I can’t wait to see the result. This organization had more chances and chances. Even the city they were in before they were kicked out. They had to find an arena to play this year. I think they had many chances. It looks like it’s Groundhog Day with them.” There’s only one person who wants to keep them there and that’s Gary Bateman.”

The former Flyers believe the Coyotes players are tired of the uncertainty and they all want to be clear about the team’s future.

“There is Quebec, but there are also other cities in the United States that deserve a hockey team before them. I think players are tired of being thrown right and left. They have choices to make and they can’t wait to see what happens.”
