“My first task was to select and negotiate a trade. Jey Uso is a top talent, which narrows the field of possibilities. For me, as a general manager, the most important responsibility I have is to the SmackDown fans. I knew the SmackDown fans would not tolerate a name so small He replaces a talent of the caliber of Jey Uso. I felt like Kevin Owens met the criteria for a number of reasons, one of which is that he’s a top talent. But also, we’re in a new season, and I feel like Kevin is entering a new season of his career, which means he’s just coming out From an amazing run with Sami Zayn as tag team champion. So I feel like it was the right time for him to once again consider ending his singles career. With that in mind, I felt like all of these different parts were in the right place. So I called Kevin and we talked. I spoke with Adam And Triple H. We negotiated and made the deal.”
