McDavid threw a dart in the NHL

Connor McDavid showed great frustration with the referee’s decision to call Leon Draistel’s extra-time goal on Thursday.

While everyone thought the Oilers had escaped victory thanks to a Leon Draistel goal, the officials ruled out that McDavid caused an offside at the blue line. The St. Louis Blues finally left Edmonton with a 4-3 win on penalties.

“Ever since I was little, I thought it was okay to cross the blue line in possession of the puck. According to TSN, the real question was whether or not I had control of the puck,” McDavid said after the game.

“The league needs to clarify some of these rules. What is a kick? What is offside? What is a goalkeeper’s tackle? It seems to depend on the night. It’s disappointing.”

However, the Oilers were leading that game 3-1 going into the third period. A turnover by Darnell Nurse sank the Oilers late in the period, as the Blues narrowed the gap to just one. And so the Alberta team left that lead and the game went into overtime.

Nurse disappointed by his game

Darnell Nurse didn’t hesitate to put the blame on his back.

A nurse said, “This is unacceptable on my part.” I left my teammates. We should never have been in this situation overtime. I play for many minutes in important situations to make such games.”

For his part, Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft criticized his players for playing softly and not playing three full periods.

“We put ourselves in a position to win this match, but in the end it’s a 60-minute match, not 59,” the coach explained.
