Lotto 6/49 draw will be suspended in Quebec

The enhanced version of the Lotto 6/49 lottery in the county will be postponed due to a strike by Loto-Québec employees.

This is how Loto-Québec will cut the Lotto 6/49 draw after the September 10 draw.

“It is technically impossible to continue the game in its current form after this date because other provinces will move to the new enhanced version,” the company justified in a press release on Wednesday.

Scheduled for September 14, the draw will only be postponed in Quebec.

Validation of Lotto 6/49 tickets will not be possible at retailers or on the app starting September 11, but ticket holders are encouraged to keep their ticket until the situation returns to normal.

Remember that at the end of August, 72% of Loto-Québec employees rejected the initial agreement reached with management.

“Loto-Quebec professional employees are particularly disappointed with the employer’s salary offer as it entails a loss of their purchasing power due to inflation in the past few months,” the union of professionals noted at the time. and professionals of the Government of Quebec (SPGQ) through a press release.

The union also believes that the salaries offered and the impossibility of working remotely full-time when tasks allow, for example, “will hurt the attraction and retention of employees.”

SPGQ claims to have proposed that the employer meet jointly with the Treasury Board to arrive at an increase in existing offerings, but that the “employer has ignored this request” and is “limiting itself to offering an increase in the number” of hours worked in order to increase annual wages.

Affected employees work in areas such as information and communications technology, sales and marketing, finance, procurement, real estate, and the legal sector.
