In Moëlan-sur-Mer, a new youth space is inaugurated – Moëlan-sur-Mer

The municipality of Moëlan-sur-Mer inaugurated its new youth space on Wednesday 17 May, in the morning, in the building of the former Trénez room, in Ellipse. A place “already frequented with pleasure by young people during the recent school holidays”, confirms Isabelle Moen, youth assistant.

This new youth space has two separate rooms: an activity room and a relaxation room with foosball, billiards and a giant screen. “The furniture was meticulously studied by the services and decorated outside with items such as ping-pong and picnic tables,” the assistant continues. “In a cohesive educational and fun project, we wanted the youth area to be part of the Ellipse’s cultural centre,” located below the performance hall and media library.

“It’s time to do something.”

“I warmly thank all the services for their investment in this achievement: Annie Muelloux, Director of Youth who has been a force for proposals and implementation, Elodie Vicomte, General Director of Services, Jean-Emile Grandvaux, Director of Services for Population, Jan Poignonec, Director of Technical Services, and his team,” Isabelle stated Moen, in front of some thirty persons present.

This achievement, “adapted to our possibilities in a constrained general economic context”, would not have been possible without financial assistance, such as that of the Family Benefit Fund that helped us with 14,000 euros for this work and the acquisition of furniture. Isabelle Moen continues.

The mayor of Moulins, Marie-Louise Gressel, underlined her deputy’s insistence “for this project that was close to our hearts because it is true that our young people were previously in a room in disrepair. It’s time to do something for them and for the employees. We wish all our young people from Mulan to spend pleasant moments here, a place where they should feel at home. Long live the youth space! “.
