In the world, the flagship of James Cameron has already crossed the $500 million mark. The billion is fast approaching but the question is how far Avatar 2 will go. Given its astronomical cost, it needs a lot more to balance its budget.
Filmsactu managed to chat for a few minutes with two of the film’s actors: Billy Bass (Tsireya, daughter of Ronal (Kate Winslet) and Tonowari (Cliff Curtis), leaders of the Metkayina clan.) and Jimmy Flatters (Nityam, the eldest son of Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana)).

Bailey : The first time I saw Zoe Saldana on set, I screamed and hid.
Jimmy Flatters : Did you hide behind something?
Bailey : No, Duan who plays Rutxo dragged me into his dressing room because he didn’t want me to make a fool of myself. We spied on her from the dressing room window, watched her…it’s uncomfortable. I’m also a huge fan of Marvel. It was a difficult moment for me. And then, Kate Winslet plays my mother. It was creepy too! But everyone is so incredibly nice.
“I was six years old when the first Avatar came out.”
What was your reaction when you first saw Avatar: The Way of the Water on the big screen in 3D?
Billy Bass kisa: it was very touching. I was six years old when the first Avatar came out. Everyone was like, ‘Billy, you don’t understand what this movie means to me, you don’t understand how amazing it was to see it the first time on the big screen and how people lined up in the cold at night to watch it.’ I was so young when it came out and it’s true, When I saw Avatar: The Way of the Water, I realized how huge, emotional, and important these films are.
James Cameron is incredibly collaborative.
How is James Cameron as a director? Is it intense, emotional, creepy?
Jimmy: It’s not scary … Well, it all depends on whether it’s after or before lunch! But that’s all it says. It is a versatile manager. He chooses to do many more things than the average manager. He must lead a team of technicians and manage the extraordinary creative process of this saga.
Bailey: James Cameron is incredibly collaborative. For someone who has made such important films, he listens to what you have to say to him, even if he always has a very accurate idea of what to expect from you. He might just be directive but he knows we love our characters as much as he does. It encourages us to share our thoughts.
Jimmy kisa: I can tell you he loves hockey jerseys. He wears it constantly in a group.
Bailey : I felt like he was only wearing two shirts during the long months of filming (laughs). He is very disciplined and focused. He got up early in the morning, went to the gym and then started his 12 hour day.
Jimmy : James Cameron and Stephen Lang did kickboxing together every morning.
