This week, the host relives the trials that have marked judicial news for the past 25 years with retired judge Nicole Gibault.

One of the court cases that will distinguish her the most is without a doubt the case of Guy Turcotte.

Mrs. Gibeault, who was just beginning her career in the media, attended the trial in the chamber with the general public.

“It’s the most horrific profile I’ve ever seen,” she told Dennis Levesque.

When he testified, I couldn’t look at his hands. I knew what happened to his hands,” she recalls.

The judge had faced horror on numerous occasions throughout her career, but no reason had ever bothered her.

She remembers the very difficult pictures presented in the evidence on television in the courtroom.

“There are certain pictures, which the Crown has no choice but to present. I didn’t look at the details, it’s so terrible. I had to turn my head, and I barely looked at anything. Once, I saw something… that still haunts me today,” she admits.

In the video below, Nicole Gibolt tells a funny anecdote about her career.
