England assistant coach Paul Collingwood admitted his side were disappointed to lose just five wickets on the second day of the first Test, when they squandered four golden chances.

Jonny Bairstow failed to bowl Cameron Green to Moeen Ali (who later scored 38), and Alex Carey was bowled by Joe Root for 26. A no-ball 112 to Khawaja before Root let slip a chance for Moeen to get Carey out was more serious.

Collingwood accepted that England didn’t stand a chance and made it Australia’s day.

“It’s a bit frustrating,” Collingwood said. “It was another great day of Test cricket. We like to take these risks, [we were] Maybe half an inch to take all their wickets tonight.

“We’re not too far behind, but we’re still in a fantastic position with a lead of 82 going into this game. That wicket isn’t going to get any better as we go. »

What time does each test match start?

All five Tests have been designated as ‘daytime’ matches, starting at 11am BST and each day’s play lasting until 6pm, although the timing can be made up to 6.30pm, otherwise, there is no break in play, to facilitate 90 overs. Lunch is at 1:00 PM for 40 minutes and tea at 3:40 PM for 20 minutes.
