Devils player in the Canadians goal?

New Jersey’s season came to a surprising end Thursday night as they were eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes.

During his segment on “La Poche Bleue le midi” on Friday, Rafael Doucet made it clear that the future was very promising for this organization.

“The best is yet to come for this training. They already have a young core who are very good in attack. In defence, Luke Hughes might be there full time. Simon Nemec, recruited behind Juraj Slafkovsky in 2022, is also another young defender to watch. They’ll be Scary in two or three years.

However, the analyst adds that changes are expected in New Jersey and that one of the team’s defenders could end up in Montreal.

“I think we’re going to want to bring Ryan Graves back because of his versatility and reliability in defence. But with guys like Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec knocking on the door, I think that means the end of Damon Severson. We’re a little short on right-handed defenders in Montreal. Could it be? Would Damon Severson be an option to help the force? I really think he’s leaving the New Jersey Devils.”
