Dell has previewed the UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub (U3425WE), one of two UltraSharp monitors launched today alongside a 40-inch variant 40 inches. As the name suggests, the U3425WE combines a 34-inch curved display with Thunderbolt connectivity, among other features. In the former case, Dell claims it's the “first 34-inch monitor certified for 5-star eye comfort,” an explanation we detailed in our launch article for the UltraSharp U2724D and UltraSharp U2724DE Launch the article.

Additionally, the U3425WE combines a 3440 x 1440 pixel (WQHD) resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, compared to 60Hz for previous models. Additionally, Dell's decision to include an IPS Black panel allows the display to achieve a 2000:1 contrast ratio with 100% sRGB color space coverage and 100% Rec. 709 and 98% P3/DCI-P3 display. Dell also specifies that the U3425WE monitor has the following ports:

  • 1 x 2.5 Gigabit RJ45
  • 1 3.5 mm jack
  • 1 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 1x HDMI 2.1 FRL
  • 1x Thunderbolt 4 (90W Power Delivery)
  • 5x USB Type A
  • 4 USB Type-C ports (15W/10Gbps Power Delivery)

Additionally, the U3425WE supports swivel, tilt and height adjustments (150mm) via the built-in stand, as well as automatic KVM and network KVM functions with two devices connected simultaneously. The U3425WE will be available worldwide starting February 27. For now, Dell has only confirmed Canadian and US prices, which are set at $1,019.99 USD and $1,399.99 CAD, respectively. Unfortunately, prices for other regions are still unknown at this time.
