Despite only making his NHL debut about three years ago, forward Cole Caufield has already earned a place among a group of very popular players in Montreal Canadiens history for a very specific reason.
Number 22 settled the controversy late in the third period with a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. It was his 14th career goal, having played 167 games for the Habs. Thus, Caufield ranks sixth in the franchise in total game-winning goals scored at age 23 or younger.
