Billie Eilish thought she would become “invincible” by confronting her past problems, but she discovered that was not the case.

In an interview with Allure, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter spoke about healing from past pain.
“I did this thing where it seemed okay to figure out all the things that would hurt you the most, because when you know those things, you can have a sense of control over those things. And once you know, you can heal. Then I will become invincible!” she explained.
The Ocean Eyes singer continued: “But what I’ve learned… is that time passes and I still have scars. You don’t have to be in pain to get out of pain. “I did it, and I don’t want to do it again.”
In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, the American singer revealed that she became depressed and “went through a self-harm phase” after suffering an injury while dancing at the age of thirteen.
“Basically, I felt like I deserved to suffer,” she explained at the time. It’s funny. When anyone else thinks of Billie Eilish at 14, they think of all the good things that happened. But all I can think about is how miserable I am. How helpless and completely lost I was. “Between 13 and 16 years old, it was very difficult.”
