An Agence France-Presse journalist in Kiev heard dozens of explosions during the night.

According to Sergey Popko, head of the capital’s military administration, debris from drones shot down by Ukrainian air defenses fell on the Svyatoshinsky, Podilsky and Shevchenkivsky districts.

Ukrainian authorities did not immediately announce whether all of the drones had been shot down or whether some of them had directly hit the city.

Popko said via the Telegram application that the debris fell on a residential building in the Shevchenkivsky district in central Kiev, without causing any injuries, but it caused a fire that was extinguished by the building’s owners.

In the Svyatoshinsky district, west of the capital, debris caused a fire in Sovki Park, one of the city’s most famous public parks, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on the Telegram app.

In the Podilsky district of central Kiev, debris fell on an open space, and doctors arriving at the scene treated a person suffering from an attack of “acute stress,” according to Mr. Klitschko.

Also according to the mayor, another burning debris fell on a road in the central Solomyansky district.
