SYDNEY (VNA) – A conference to promote information and technology cooperation between Vietnam and Australia was held almost from August 10-12, attracting the participation of IT companies from both countries.

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnamese Software Services and Information Technology Association (Destruction), Australian Institute for International Affairs (AIIA) and Vietnam Trade Bureau in Australia.

Speaking on the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Tat Thanh said that the global spread of Govt-19 has affected travel and disrupted personal contacts, but created opportunities for growth in the Vietnamese and Australian economies through cooperation in technology.

VINASA General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Giang said Vietnamese and Australian companies have many favorable conditions for enhancing their cooperation, but access to information and connectivity between the two countries’ companies is not currently possible.

Ron Cowsey, Managing DirectorAIIA, Australia and Vietnam have their own strengths in information technology, so their businesses have opportunities to benefit from each other.

Nguyen Phu Hoa, head of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Australia, said his company was ready to host a forum to promote Vietnamese digital products in Australia.
