Le Guitariste De Nine Inch Nails Et Le Directeur Créatif

The Line team collaborates to create a new game studio

In short: Dr Disrespect seems not to be the only unlikely name to start his own game studio. Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck does the same, although he’s collaborating with Spec Ops: The Line Creative Director Cory Davis on the project.

Los Angeles-based studio Eyes Out’s debut title will be “an immersive single-player cosmic horror game with strong environmental storytelling elements.” Davis has experience in the genre, having worked on the level design of the excellent game Condemned 2: Bloodshot and FEAR: Extraction Point. He was also the director of the PSVR 2016 horror title Here They Lie, and in 2014, he was a founding member of the independent game studio Tangent Games.

Nor would it be Finck’s first foray into the horror world of video games. He previously worked on the score for the space thriller No Code Observation and horror shooter NOCT from Devolver Digital.

The two met during the production of Here They Lie. “When I was finishing work on Here They Lie, Robin walked into our studio and I felt a very strong connection to his open and creative vision of the presence and power of music,” Davis said. “We immediately started working on some of the prototypes I had in development at the time, and together we went straight to something unexpected.”

According to the press release, the Eyes Out team includes “enthusiastic world-builders and storytellers who believe in a strong synesthesia that arises from music, storytelling, and interactive experiences.”

Earlier this week, we learned that popular broadcaster Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm is opening a game studio so “big influencers” can create their dream title. Beahm was a level designer in the Call of Duty dev Activision, so he’s not entirely new to this sort of thing.
