With the Artemis mission, the return of humans to the Moon has become even more meaningful: NASA’s Orion spacecraft found Earth after 25 days in space and a flyby of the Moon’s star. The success of this mission was crucial for NASA, which has invested tens of billions of dollars in this program to return to the moon. Fifty years ago, on December 14, 1972, the last men to walk on the Moon blasted off for Earth again, ending the last Apollo mission. Since then, no more humans have been added to the list of twelve astronauts – all Americans – who have walked on our satellite.
