According to a YouGov poll for The Times, 44% of Britons want Prince Harry stripped of his royal titles. The decision reflects the failure of the documentary about Sussex in the Kingdom.
A reverse effect. With their “break” about three years later royal family, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are still not united in the United Kingdom. In fact, according to a poll conducted by YouGov for the British newspaper on Friday “The Times“, 44% of Britons want the Duke of Sussex to be stripped of his royal titles. Conversely, 32% of those polled believe Harry should keep them.
The decision, devastating for the couple, comes nearly a month after their documentary aired, “Harry & Meghan», on the Netflix platform. The series particularly highlights the underbelly of the Sussexes’ departure for a new life in North America.
As such, 23% of those polled said the latest series has worsened their view of Harry and Meghan.
Even more surprisingly, the formation had a sort of “reverse effect” and benefited both William and Kate. And according to the survey, 44% of Britons said they had a lot of sympathy for the future royal couple, compared to 17% for the Sussexes.
However, 51% of Britons now believe the couple, who now live in America, should be invited to the coronation of King Charles III next May.
Discord Documentary
The day after the “Harry & Meghan” documentary aired, the British press overwhelmingly supported the Prince and Princess of Wales and their “dignity,” while slamming the Sussexes’ “betrayal.” British author Tom Quinn described the Harry and Meghan series as “painful to watch”.
“I’m surprised the documentary didn’t do more damage to the Sussexes. It was painful to watch – it makes you realize they’re lost souls. I’m not surprised people have more sympathy for the Prince and Princess of Wales because they show classic stoicism. They’re not complaining about Harry,” he said. He said Dailymail.
“I don’t think it’s possible for the King to remove the Duke of Sussex’s title because it looks like he and Prince William are making the same mistakes as Harry and Meghan,” he added.
