The ranking of hopes was revealed: Montreal first

Montreal finds itself ahead of the Canadian teams in terms of its hopes.

The Montreal Canadiens stand out with four players among the top 50 NHL prospects according to TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button.

Defenders Len Hutson (16th), David Reinbacher (33rd) and Logan Mylox (38th) are joined by striker Joshua Roy (30th) on this prestigious list.

Montreal continues the rebuilding process, and it looks like there's plenty of help on the way. Hutson continues to dominate the NCAA with Boston University (12 goals and 37 points in 28 games), while Roy, in his first professional season, is already part of the main team.

The Winnipeg Jets have three prospects in the top 50, while the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames each have two.

The Canucks boast the top two prospects on the roster with Boston University defenseman Tom Wilander (9th) and Örebro Hong Kong forward Jonathan Lekirimaki (10th). Wilander has 16 points in 28 league games this season, while Lekirimaki scored 14 goals and 23 points in 37 games in Sweden.

The Jets are represented by University of Michigan forward Rutger McGroarty, 11th, who led the United States to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships, and Owen Sound Attack forward Colby Barlow, 27th.

Barlow had 31 goals and 45 points in 37 games after Winnipeg selected him 18th overall in 2023. Defenseman Elias Salomonsson also ranks 45th overall.

In terms of quality, the Canucks and Jets lead the way among NHL teams in Canada, Patton says.

“The top three [espoirs] From Winnipeg and Vancouver are really good players.”“Patton said.

The Flames have the best goaltender on the roster in Dustin Wolf at No. 12 and forward Matt Coronato at No. 24. Wolf, a seventh-round pick in 2019, continues to dominate in his third season in the AHL, compiling a 19-7 record. 3 with a .928 save percentage and 2.25 goals against average in 30 games.

Coronato is in his first professional season and maintains the pace of points per game with 14 goals and 37 points in 36 games. He was selected 13th overall by Calgary in 2021.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have one prospect in the top 50, and that is forward Easton Cowan, who sits at No. 37. Cowan, a first-round pick in last June's draft, is currently on a 24-point streak where he has scored 27 goals and collected 75 points in 42 games this season. The London Knights currently lead the league with 83 points.
