The Association of Former Mayors between Bruce and Monclair

As part of the activities of the Association of Former Mayors and Vice Mayors of Aveyron, 35 of its members traveled to Brousse-le-Château and Montclar during a festive day and study.

After a coffee reception by Georges Damerval, mayor of Bruce le Chateau, the morning continued with a visit to the fortified castle overlooking its medieval village, classified as “the most beautiful village in France” and the wonderful Tarn valley between Albi and Millau. Lunch was taken at the village restaurant “Le Relays du château” before walking on the way to Montclar.

Two visits were organized there. The remote consulting firm grabbed all the attention. With the help of a nurse, patients are connected to a GP in Montpellier who consults patients and writes their prescriptions. In rural areas where doctors are short, this is a step forward in terms of access to care.

The second visit was devoted to the meteorological station set up in Montclare in 2005. The meteorological engineers based in Toulouse made the trip to explain the interest of these installations, in particular the “Hydrometeorological Radar” which was built 667 meters above sea level at a place called “Le Bois.” It is the nineteenth radar built in France and the first in a series of eight new generation radars.

The day ended at Monclair Village Hall where Mayor Marina Vidal Condominiums served up a wonderful refreshment with the scorching heat of the day.
