Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins, whom we love to mock for all the times she said she was “concerned” or “upset” or “frustrated” by the missteps of her party or its leaders, Tell in The New York Times She welcomes Nikki Haley's decision not to end her presidential campaign following her defeat in the New Hampshire Republican primary. She also said she couldn't imagine supporting Donald Trump if he were her party's nominee for president next November. Does this mean she is ready to support Haley's candidacy?
Collins' response is what I would call first-rate “class.” I quote journalist Annie Carney times “But she continues to say she will not support Haley, noting that she was friends with several candidates in the race (who are no longer in the race).” »
A statement reminiscent of former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's line: “Susan is always out there with a vote she doesn't need.” »
