Space Theater presents a play by Umi Muna

As part of the Mont Laurier College Center Science and Culture Conference, Espace Théâtre presents a play with participation from Desjardins, the Hautes-Laurentides Heart Fund, and the Mont Laurier College Center Foundation. The play, written by Umi Mooney, is titled MA wonderful meeting with my grandmother.

In its tragicomic style, the play tells the story of writer and actor Mohsen Al-Gharbi, who goes to Tunisia to photograph his grandmother, in order to recover his family history. He finds himself projected back to the time when the latter was a young girl martyred at the hands of a tyrannical husband. Mohsen then becomes an invisible witness to the dramatic moments.

All of this was made possible by Les Voyagements, the creative theater in the round. A $1,650 grant from the Desjardins, Caisse du coeur des Hautes-Laurentides Community Development Assistance Fund and the financial participation of the Fondation du Center Collégial de Mont-Laurier will make it possible to provide tickets to students.

Note that the section is displayed to all residents. It will be shown on March 27 at 3 p.m.
