Shakira announced her departure from Barcelona with her children.
In a post on her Instagram on Sunday (April 2, 23), the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer told her fans that she and her children were leaving Spain, after her separation from soccer star Gerard Pique, which took place in June 2022.
“I moved to Barcelona to offer stability to my children, the same thing we now seek in another corner of the world, along with my family, friends and the sea,” Shakira said in Spanish in the legend of a panoramic photo of Barcelona. Today we begin a new chapter in the pursuit of their happiness.
The Colombian singer resided in Barcelona with Gerard Pique during the eleven years of their relationship. They have two children together: Sasha, 8, and Milano, 10.
“Thank you to everyone who surfed with me in Barcelona, the city where I learned that friendship outlasts love. Thank you to everyone who helped me, who dried my tears, who inspired me and made me grow,” she continued in her message.
“Thank you to all the Spanish fans who have shown me loyalty and affection. For you, it’s just ‘see you later’ and as my dad often says, we’ll meet at turns.
Although Shakira has not specified where she and her children will be moving to, she may very well be planning to live in Miami, Florida.
After her split with Gerard Pique, Shakira released Bzrp Music Sessions, Volume 53, in which she accused the former footballer of cheating on her with his new girlfriend, Clara Xia Marti.
