Last December, the Quebec chain completed the acquisition of two lots for $13 million, one of which covers an area of more than 600,000 square feet, along the Jean Lesage Highway.

Canac plans to begin work on its new delivery center in the coming months and is scheduled to open in fall 2022.

This project is a “priority”, the administration offers, in order to be able to continue to respond well to demand. She says her delivery center in Lancien Lorette has been under pressure for several years now.

It must be said that since the beginning of the epidemic, like many other hardware stores across the county, Canac has seen its sales skyrocket. Many Quebecers have embarked on significant renovation work.

“The aim of creating a second delivery center is to open up more markets as well as to significantly improve the speed of material delivery as well as the scale of work we can deploy,” said the company’s CEO, Pierre Laberge.

Work on the new delivery center, whose buildings will provide 100,000 square feet of storage space, will cost $10 million. About 35 jobs will be created over time.
