One of the best MMOs on Steam is finally receiving life-changing improvements for players in the game, and this wait will continue for months

The rest will follow after this announcement

The global version of MMORPG Lost Ark is slightly behind the Korean version, that's a fact. The Smilegate development team now wants to align the two versions with the January update that promises major quality of life improvements and balance changes.

What does the big January update bring to Lost Ark?

New content for Lost Ark should be available on January 10, 2024 (Via the lost ship):

  • the Difficulty mode The Infernal will be added to the Prilshaza Legion raid.
  • With Lai Lai Island, a new adventure island will be available.
  • Quality of life improvements will be added.
  • Players will be able to take advantage of balance changes.

With the January update, all balance changes will be brought to the Western version, which are already present in the Korean version. But when it comes to improving the quality of life, Western players will have to make some compromises.

In fact, here we receive the version that corresponds to the fall 2023 release in Korea. Any additional quality of life improvements will likely come later in the rest of the world. This would reduce the gap between the two versions.

Highlights of the new difficulty level

The highlight of the update is the new difficulty level for the Brelshaza Legion raid. Instead of the normal Legion Raid rewards, such as equipment and materials, there will be titles, achievements, and more.

To use the difficulty level, you must have item level 1560 and have a full build setup in the format book. Unlike other Legion raids, the “Infernal” raid will not include all portals. It will instead focus on the final two portals of the original raid.
