Since appearing in our Short Circuit section in May 2021, Genêt d’Or’s Ardèche nougat has changed direction. The recipe and artisanal method of manufacturing remain unchanged and the new owners intend to spread their gem beyond the department!
You may have had a nice surprise last Friday by visiting the Genêt d’Or boutique workshop thanks to France 21 PM news and discovering a new team there. Laurent Remy and Cedric Pontot took over the nougat business last February. Their goal is to preserve the recipe and artisanal production based on almonds and Ardèche honey, while making Genêt d’Or nougat known beyond the borders of the department. Since February, they have already found distribution points in Lyon, Paris and Normandy. Thanks to the Goûtez l’Ardèche label, some products manufactured in the Vogüe workshop were also able to appear on the shelves of local supermarkets.

On site, Laurent and Cédric have maintained the spirit of the place, but have opened up their shelves to other Ardèche specialties, turning a corner of their pastries into a delicatessen. Since the entrepreneurs are full of ideas, they decided to make these products available 24/7 to Voguéens. A few meters away from the original store, they took over the building to install a locker system, a kind of giant dispenser that allows you to purchase savory or sweet specialties at any time. “L’Espace gourmand” is supposed to launch in Genêt d’Or at the beginning of October 2023.
